Business Details
Founded in 1988, Renew Computers is the largest independent electronics recycling company in Marin County, California. We operate a centrally located warehouse facility and service center in downtown San Rafael where we collect, sort, repair, reuse, and properly recycle computers and electronics. Our team of qualified technicians works diligently to restore functional electronics, diverting quality products from landfills and scrap streams. We prioritize reuse as the most environmentally and economically responsible option for end-of-life electronics. In addition to our recycling and reuse center, we operate a discount parts warehouse, retail store, and dedicated service department. In 2025, we reused or recycled over 869,000 pounds of electronic waste through our operations.
All electronics donated to our facility are processed within the United States, either at our San Rafael site or by a certified R2v3 downstream recycler. We guarantee that no items accepted for recycling will ever end up in a landfill. We are an authorized e-waste collector in the State of California, certified and audited by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). Our CalRecycle license number is 100888, and we hold EPA certification number CAL000490278. We also offer computer repair, secure data destruction, and sales of fully tested refurbished electronics to serve the needs of Marin County residents and businesses.

Seidel did excellent, thorough diagnostic work on my 2017 iMac, patiently answered all my questions, and discussed different options with me. I recommend him and his great team at Renew Computers without hesitation. Honest, knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy, and so reasonable, especially for the notably high quality of the work.

My computer was not charging, even though plugged in. After several attempts at customer service with Dell and failing, I remember Renew. I took the computer in and was told someone would contact within day or so. As promised the person called and told the adaptor may have worn out and he would ordering a part and I should the computer by November 24th. Sure enough, on November 24th the computer was ready and cost of the repair was reasonable. I highly recommend Renew Computers to my friends. Great Job.

These guys techs are the best. I had a minor issue with my laptop running slow, especially considering it's not even a year old. Renew did a quick counter diagnosis and corrected a few things, primarily unused/needed Chrome extensions. He also gave me a few tips and and disk maintenance sites. It's now running fine. I tried to pay them for this but they said no need to. I'll definitely be back the next time I need PC repairs. They also have a nice selection of used PCs and Apples.

I have a couple teenagers and they are tough on their computers. Their laptops often get bogged down with internet acquired junk. Renew Computer guys are honest, professional and friendly. My daughter's MacBook completely shut down and these guys were able to reboot it and clean out internet surfing badness for only $60. Last visit was my 3rd. They also have renewed computers for sale at budget prices. Highly recommend for computer repair.
