PC Defender Antivirus - Warning
Back around the beginning of 2009 a number of corporate computers in the Colorado area began getting hit with a number of spyware and virus programs despite being protected with leading antivirus software. The root cause of this issue turned out to be a fake antivirus application that the end users installed called PC Defender Antivirus.
Recently this fake antivirus software has begun making another appearance in the Colorado area. If you don't already use a commercial antivirus software application that you purchased, the recommendation is that you do so. If you are at any time prompted to install a free security or antivirus application, don't do it unless you know for certain that it is legitimate.
