Computer Service Technician

The Computer Service Technician is considered to be a computer troubleshooter or desktop support specialist. Service Technicians install and test computers, fix performance issues, diagnose hardware-related problems, repair computers in customers’ offices, homes, at the company’s offices and in any place or work environment with installed computers. The duties of the technician include troubleshooting, maintaining or repairing all hardware, peripherals, new-age storage devices, operating systems and software applications that are plugged into or installed on desktops or laptops. Additionally, the Service Technician is expected to clearly explain the problems identified, potential solutions and educate the customer in the use of the technology. The Service Technician will be required to create training and education materials as well as deliver training, to individuals or to groups, in the use of and topics surrounding technology.

Familiarity and interest in computers
Great attitude and interpersonal skills
Ability and license to drive
Ability to perform activities associated with fixing computer hardware including, but not limited to, lifting, kneeling, bending, working with electrical devices and components
Knowledge of anti-virus/ anti-spyware tools, internet connections, data recovery tools and methods
Interest and familiarity with computer, video and traditional games preferred
Training delivery preferred, need not be technical
Experience working with PCs and Macs preferred
