I am originally from the Gulf Coast area of Texas (Galveston County). When I was in the Navy I had the privilege of being stationed at the Little Creek Amphibious Base and I fell in love with Virginia Beach.
I have always been into computers as a hobby and after being honorably discharged from the Navy I went school for Computer Science at the University of Houston. This was after going through Certification Courses. I quickly learned that programming was not my thing. I just couldn’t see myself being a computer programmer.
My wife and I made the decision to move back to Virginia Beach in 2004. One of the best decisions we ever made! We absolutely love it here. I was working for the Geek Squad and really loved helping people with computer problems at their homes and businesses. Although I believe that overall the Geek Squad and Best Buy is not an evil company I fundamentally disagree with their business model. Make as much money off each individual as possible first and help them second.
Fast forward a couple more years to 2006. I ‘accidentally’ started my business. At first I called it My Computer Guy. I ran a cheap, tiny ad in a small phone book. I was getting calls right away. The next year I changed the name to Your Computer Guy and ran a bigger ad. To make a long story short I’ve helped many, many great people over the years.
I truly enjoy helping great people with bad computers, but first and foremost I’m a husband and father with a fabulous family. I’ve been married since 1999 to my loving wife Rebecca and we have two awesome kids. We currently live in Virginia Beach and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

I took my laptop here for a broken screen, and I got it back quicker than expected, as well as cheaper than what they originally quoted me. They even waited a few minutes past closing for me to make it to the store when I dropped off my laptop because I was getting off work! Awesome customer service, and I would definitely recommend.

Yooo! This place is it! Friendly knowledgeable staff that make it all look super easy. CHRIS IS THAT GUY! One place literally told me to fix my machine myself.twice (come back later kinda vibe). Chris was taking things apart and plugging things into other futuristic looking things like "bruh you good!" as soon as i walked in there! I felt like besties and sh!t and my machine is now running better than it ever has.
Its weird.? I didnt know it could be this smooth? But Chris put that GREASE on it! I feel like i can finish my degree now. Thanks Chris! Also, they have a nice playlist going on in there

King Christopher and King Wes run this place in the best daggum way possible. Super professional, super friendly, super good prices. I will only recommend this place to people looking to repair their computers. They even do good diagnostics and give honest estimates for what others will likely charge or how much a part is going to cost if done by one's self. 10/10 100/100.

I took my broken MacBook Air to a few places but ultimately decided to go with these guys. Adam was super helpful, and they even got it done faster than I expected. Nice, friendly in-store atmosphere. They care about their customers and weren't trying to nickel and dime me, which is what led me to choose them. Great communication too. Definitely recommend

I'm going to jump on the 5 star train- Chris not only restored my entire drive, but also provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. He explained everything up front, called me with updates, answered all of my questions, and made a potentially tough tech situation a breeze. They are worth every dime and the rest of the staff was so welcoming, too. Thank you for everything!

Very friendly and helpful! Picked up a battery to be installed in my laptop. Took the battery and laptop to Best Buy because I have the Geek Squad plan where they were supposed to do the install under the plan agreement, but they declined to do the work because they said a thermal event could happen. So, took the battery and laptop back to the Computer Guy and they did the work with no problems in about 10 minutes! I would highly recommend this store for computer service.

Now retired from freelance writing, I called Your Computer Guy for help with my MacBook Pro. My novice computer skills and advice from friends helped a lot, but I was in over my head trying to get things back in order. I've been building my own systems since back in the 486 days (my original word-processor ran on 2 floppys) so when something goes wrong with a new build and I need help I need the real deal! These guys are the real deal! I got a straight forward answer and solution quicker then I thought and for a reasonable price. Thanks guys - I was deathly afraid the only tech left in 2017 were the big box stores. Based on the 2 times I've asked those people a question Ive concluded they are as useful as snake mittens. My computer was not powering on and i was sure that I was facing a pretty expensive repair bill since I hadn't backed up properly. Your Computer Guy gave me a very reasonable quote on data recovery, but when I went in it turned out to be an even less expensive solution that was needed. These guys are fair, honest, and they know what they are doing!

I am a retired physics instructor and am relatively familiar with computer hardware - the operating software not so much. Unfortunately I have had occasion to take unbootable laptops to David 3 times over a couple of years. Fortunately he is a 9th degree technowizard and was able to work his magic on my dead/dying computers and revive them. Two of the three times I had to wait as long as five minutes!
Two of the three times he didn't want to charge me (felt sorry for a senior citizen?). Finding "Your Computer Guy" (now MY computer guy) was like finding an honest car repair shop - worth gold! I just hope he stays in business until I'm too old to need computers anymore (or until we all become Amagooglezon cyborgs).

David has been repairing our computers for over 10 years. The day before yesterday (a Saturday) my computer crashed and I took it in for repair. I was shocked when David said that it would be ready the next day. Really!?!?!? A computer repair shop open on Sunday?? My second shock came the next day when I received the invoice and my fully repaired computer.

I dreaded taking my computer to anyone, but after 6 months of it acting up then it finally died. What a relief to walk in to Your Computer Guy store, who diagnosed it right away, and would have it up and running that day. I was so excited it wasn't anything major. I had them keep it awhile longer to update from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Then I dropped off my lap top and he updated it from Windows (crazy give me a headache) 8 to Windows 10. Now I have 2 computers that work great. No fuss, stress free, and affordable. I'm a very happy customer.

Geek Squad, take the back seat, you have been topped! We have been using Your Computer Guy for several years for several issues. Since moving from their old place behind the Farm Fresh at Haygood to their new location on Independence across the street from Pembrook Mall. These guys are as honest as most grandmothers. They have scrubbed spyware, cleaned junk out for faster speed, didn't charge me to tell my my computer was toast after spilling a martini on the keyboard, and sold a new computer to my husband. The most honest gentlemen in the business! I took my MacBook into them because the screen quick working. Instead of just taking the computer in and charging me a diagnostics fee, they opened it right on the spot just to let me know it was an issue they prefer not work on (liquid damage). But rather than just politely showing me the door, they shared their ideas on what I should do to fix the issue myself.
I was able purchase the items they recommended for $3.50, and I fixed the issue by following their very honest instructions! I'm telling you, don't waste your time getting screwed elsewhere ... GO TO SEE DAVID!
