Saad has been a great savior to my laptop. He helped me spend money wisely but his service was indeed excellent and with awesome quality. You will also be able to learn a lot of information which is very useful and practical. Unlimited thumbs up for him. I could have given 10 stars if I could. Thank you very much

I needed help with transferring pictures from my Android to my PC. Ahmed found a way to "trick" my non connecting phone to retrieve the pictures. He also guided me over the phone (and remote access to my PC) and explained to me step by step what he was doing. He earned my trust and respect by his good communication, great service and honesty. Sphinx is now "my place" to go with any phone or PC questions.

I spoke with Sphinx Computer about a problem I was having with my computer. I was getting an error message that the CPU fan was not functioning. He said bring it in I will take a look. Brought it in he said he had a fan that would fit and I had it back in an hour. I will use him again if I have a computer problem.

This place has five star reviews for a reason. Ahmed gives you an honest assessment for repair and doesn't try to oversell you anything you don't need. My older model Dell Inspiron laptop has a new hard drive, more RAM and is now running excellent. Very reasonable prices to boot. Highly recommend.

I wish I could give Sphinx Computer 6 stars because they went above and beyond. They were able to install a new computer for my father who is home bound. They were able to do it for a reasonable price and were very timely. I can't saw enough for the great service they showed.

I brought my desktop computer and speakers in for repair, and the technician (owner?) was able to fix the problem quickly, while I waited. He was kind and considerate and made a special effort to make me feel welcome as a new customer. I was impressed with his competence and generosity and recommend his business highly.

Ahmed is a computer genius! I had built a new PC but was unable to get it working. I found Sphinx and was impressed with their 5 star reviews. I called him and he said he was busy but to bring it in and he would see what he can do. I only waited 20 mins and he was able to pinpoint the issue! Great technical skills and amazing customer service!

Sphinx was super helpful when our laptop died during quarantine. They assessed the problem quickly and helped us work with the credit card company to file a claim through the extended warranty program. Very professional and friendly service. Would definitely use them again. Thank you Sphinx.

I recommend Sphinx with certainty. Ahmed takes his work very seriously and works diligently to find a solution. After a having a poor experience at another computer shop in Lombard(they kept my computer for 2 months but didn't fix it). Sphinx was recommended to me on Facebook. Ahmed was very polite on the phone and assured me that things would be different, and they were. My hardware problem was fixed, the price was fair and my laptop is even working faster than before. I have been a customer at Sphinx Computer for two years. On separate occasions I have now purchased three laptops, a monitor, and an iPhone 7 Plus. No problems with any of the devices. Ahmed is very professional and stands behind his work. I have not had one bad experience with Sphinx and have saved thousands of dollars versus buying new. The products are reliable and so is the owner. You won't go wrong shopping here.

I have been a customer of Sphinx Computer in Lombard for the last several years and I have always had excellent service every time I need assistance with my computer issues. They have been the most knowledgeable, most affordable and accommodating business that I have experienced over the years and believe me I have been to many computer repair shops in the past.

I wanted to write them a review so people know about this business because they are one of the best out there. I refer them out to all my colleagues and friends that have issues with their computer. They have not only helped fix virus and hard drive issues but sometimes it can be a simple fix that they have even helped me resolve over the phone. I fixed my phone here. I also bought another phone, a used computer and other gadgets from here as well. People working here are friendly and will go out of their way to help you. They answered my technical questions and told me what's good and what's otherwise when I could not decide what to buy. Overall, great experience and will definitely do business with them again.

Oh no, the dreaded blue screen of death! My hard drive and motherboard bit the dust simultaneously, which was no surprise since I was dealing with an 8+ year old desktop. Through multiple consultations and even an after hours phone call, Ahmed was conscientious and explained everything thoroughly. I could have gone for a brand new setup, but figured I'd save the $400 and have Sphinx provide a used desktop with refurbished hard drive/motherboard.

Everything works better than before and so far so good. I had some networking questions too and Ahmed played consultant for me, which was appreciated. Overall, Sphinx did a great job!

Absolutely an amazing store. I've been there twice, once several years ago, and again this week. Saad recognized me, which is pretty incredible in and of itself. He helped me get my information off of a bricked laptop and was incredibly patient and helpful in helping me purchase a very reasonably priced refurbished laptop at his store. Customer service is hugely important to me and this store exceeded my high expectations repeatedly. Shop at this store with confidence - I should have started here when I bought my last laptop (and I'll take my own advice in the future)!

I was referred to this business from hyde park computer center. This shop repaired the broken bracket on my laptop's display affordably and quickly. The owner was even helpful in adjusting to my logistical problems (stayed open so I could get through traffic to pick up my finished computer from an area that's far from me) No one else would do this work without shipping my machine out and promising me a month long wait. Thanks Sphinx :)

There are a TON of computer repair shops these days. I think four of them are on a two-mile stretch of Main St. in Lombard between Roosevelt and St. Charles. And they all stay afloat, likely because people are tired of buying brand-new technology every time something goes awry, when they can simply have it fixed or updated and get another couple of years out of their device.

Or perhaps you're like me, with a six-month old laptop that could use a little more RAM. And perhaps you think that you can do it all yourself because someone on YouTube made it look easy. And perhaps you're a little too rough in trying to remove the battery from your laptop, and perhaps something that shouldn't pop off. oops. What to do, after you've facepalmed for ten minutes?

You could contact the store of purchase, only to find out that they don't sell new motherboards or even fix them. You could contact the computer manufacturer and learn that they want to charge over $300 to fix a laptop that only cost you $400. Or you could put your faith in the hands of Saad at Sphinx. Saad had to go above and beyond the call to get this thing working again.

When I desperately wanted my laptop to continue being portable, Saad and his associate worked on it long and hard. When they found that the laptop manufacturer wouldn't even offer a schematic of the motherboard, they kept plugging away before finding a workaround, though I gave them a unique situation. The price I paid for their effort was far less than the alternative and a great value, considering the effort. Saad has worked on other things for me.

If it's unfixable, he'll tell me right away and not charge me for the info. It's as if he wants to genuinely earn every dollar he makes, an ethos that few others in the business world share. This is THE place to go for your computer needs. You can rely on them and trust them. I won't go anywhere else, and neither should you.

I brought them a laptop for screen repair. I Incurred 2 major problems. They should have none better plus i actually told them that the resolution of the original screen is (SXGA), but they still replaced it with a (XGA). Second problem, the original screen was matte black screen, they replaced it with a glossy one. Which is fairly worthless in sunlight.

My lappy's battery refused to recharge, right before finals no less! In a panic, I dropped it off at Sphinx. The friendly gent behind the counter dropped everything, did a quick diagnostic test, pronounced my electric cable dead, and sold me a new one. Quick and inexpensive--just what I needed.

I'm writing a review for these guys because they are awesome, they fix everything for very cheap price compare to other people .. use them!!
