I purchased a Tv and got a 4 year plan to cover it. The Tv went bad 2 1/2 years later and the plan was to cover a replacement or refund the BASE purchase price. I paid $430 and the base cost was 377.99 for the Tv. Everything was moving along and was informed that I would be receiving my check via post. I was disappointed that I was out a Tv, but happy to get the base cost back to buy a replacement.

The check came in for a prorated amount because " It was a used product and to save me the shipping cost " as said by Billy the customer service rep. via chat. That is total nonsense and a lie. There was no mention of a prorated amount in my previous discussions and was specifically asked to provide a base cost as that would be the amount refunded.

I feel like I'm being given the run around. Representative Billy informed me that he and his team are not equipped to assist customers with these matters and gave me a number to call. In true "BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE" fashion the department that handles Tv claims is closed. I was told to call again tomorrow. Why would a customer service rep tell me to call now when they know what hours that department operates at?! At the very least inform the customer of the department times.

From past experiences when purchasing electronics such as PC's, laptops, chrome books, tablets and cellular devices to, I always purchase any warranty coverage for additional protection. I had purchased a Dell laptop in June of 2020. A great investment by far! Early in June I went to reach my laptop from on top of my refrigerator, as I was bringing it towards me and that is when it had slipped and had fallen on the tile floor!

I was devastated to be completely honest I just couldn't believe that actually happened. I remembered that I had purchased the extended warranty and I found the receipt stapled to the packet. The process of filing a claim was literally the easiest, most convenient way and super easy. They paid for shipping prepaid label, I was sent updates and within a week I had received a replacement! Very satisfied and happy with the peace of mind.

Terrible service. I paid for a protection plan through this company for my Samsung S22 ultras on 03/19/2022. I filed a claim on 06/15/2022. The company authorized me to get the phone locally repaired. The instructions said to provide the receipt after the repair was complete. I paid for the repair and I sent the receipt in. The company denied sending me the money minus my deductible and said the receipt was an estimate.

The receipt was not an estimate. It shows the amount to repair the screen was $423.99. The receipt shows payments of $423.99 and balance due of $0.00, which means I paid $423.99. I even provided proof that the money was withdrawn from my back account and they ignored me. I provided the receipt that was given to me when I made the payment. This is the only receipt I was given.

This is unfair and a bad business practice. Allstate took over Square Trade and I didn't realize this until after I bought the policy. If I would have known, I wouldn't have purchased the plan because Allstate did this to me in the past as well with another phone policy I purchased through them. This company is crooked. They take your money and they won't honor the contract when you try to file a claim. I don't recommend this company for any protection plans. They steal your money when you buy the plan because they won't honor the terms of the contract.

Love the protection plans. Square trade is very easy to deal with. Easy website to use, sends fast refunds. Nothing electronic lasts these days so I always get the warranties. Trick is to remember u bought it.

I purchased a warrantee on a commercial canopy at the same time I purchased the item on Amazon. We used it a few times then this past weekend at a show the leg bent and bright the tent down on myself and customers. It destroyed over $100 worth of products. There was a breeze and the only thing I could think of was that the wind was to much for it to talk, but the wind was only 10 to 12 mph at most.

It didn't make sense. When I filed my claim, I was honest and gave me best guess as to that happened. They told me that if it was due to wind it was an act of God and not their problem. I explained that a commercial grade tent shouldn't collapse in 10 mph winds, but they didn't care. They offer protection on outdoor furniture but refuse to actually cover any outdoor damage.

Do not use them. Find another warrantee if possible or just forgo it. They will find a reason not to help you and then you're out the money you paid for the warrantee AND the defective item. Amazon customer service was far more kind and helpful. In short, don't use square trade or Allstate.

I purchased an extended warranty thru Square Trade for my riding mower. I called them to file a claim and immediately got a response, via email, that my claim was approved and all I had to do was get the item fixed, upload my receipt and I would be reimbursed within one business day. Here it is 21 days later, 8 phone calls lasting 30-45 minutes and being on hold, and 3 emails telling me that I would hear back from someone within 2 days.

After 3 weeks of wasting my time I still have not received the reimbursement for the parts, labor and repair. Nor will ANYONE explain to me what the hold up is. How do you approve a claim in writing, and then not honor it. I am now in the process of gathering all my information and documentation so I can file a suit. All this unecessary bs because they don't stand by their word. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. IT'S USELESS. and if you search the internet, you will see that they have had many lawsuits filed against them. Eileen in Virginia

I had a very good experience with Squaretrade. I have a laptop computer that I purchased the extended warranty for. After two and a half years the display went bad, color was way off and vertical and horizontal lines all over it. I contacted the company and opened a claim. They sent me a prepaid shipping label to send in for service, somewhere in Illinois.

I feared a long delay but that did not happen. I shipped it out on a Friday and received it back the following Monday. The laptop was repaired and I am able to type up this review on it right now. Great job by the folks all around.

Your company scam customers who buy warranties and you will not honor them. Square Trade gives you the run around when you try to file a claim. I have placed many, many calls and also had to go through their chat too. I have been working on a claim for days and Square Trade finds some lame excuse to halt the claim. I have a purchase warranty, I have a broken television and Square Trade continues to stop the processing of my legitimate claim.

You should have a class action suit filed against your company by the many customers who are going through the same frustration as me. I paid close to 800 dollars for the TV and warranty, why don't you simply reimburse me and do the honorable thing. I'm sure you won't since you are spending my money and thousands of others money on your new offices. I'm so disgusted. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The second experience was so smooth that by itself it would be 5 stars. SOOOO. I ordered a portable monitor to use at work. It worked well for a few weeks until the unit mysteriously stopped working. I tried to use the protection plan and was flatly rejected. I didn't drop it or spill on it. The input unit had a quality issue. Well, a year later I had to file a claim for another product. I saw the monitor was still under protection. I did another claim and it was no questions asked this time! Thank you, as being late is better than never.

I've called twice about issues with me LG TV from Costco. I got transferred to someone who barely speaks English, who told me to do the same things over and over again. Wasted 45 minute of my time. And the tv still randomly shuts off and has other issues. I don't understand what the point of purchasing the protection plan is. It's pointless and a waste of money.

I'm basically paying to have my time wasted. If I call again I'm pretty sure they'll tell me the same thing over and over again. They may send someone one out and it still won't get fixed. ITS ALL A SCAM.

14 days and I still don't have my TV repaired with a long time to go before it will be. First repair person flaked. Then they sent the same person again. They send emails saying your appt is confirmed, when it isn't and repairs are contracted out to bad contractors. Off shore call centers: Everything is we will get back to you via email. Filing a BBB complaint

We purchased insurance with Square Trade (Allstate) for a computer we purchased through Costco. The top of the laptop began to separate from the bottom of the laptop. We called Square Trade and they allowed us to take the laptop to a repair shop near us. We had it fixed and they sent us a check for reimbursement. The whole process was very easy and straightforward. We received the check quickly and the laptop is working well. Thank you for the quick and easy transaction.

Don't purchase these trash plans going on three weeks trying to file a claim for my vacuum and I keep getting the run around from these off shore call center reps. The only time I get any form of help is when a rep that is local answers. It's seems the company bets on you getting frustrated and giving up. I've asked for a supervisor and they transfer you to their co worker. This company is a true scam. First and last time I purchase one of these fraudulent protection plans

Scammers for sure. I ordered a product around Christmas time 2021 it's now April almost May and still yet to receive product so Cancelled both product and protection plan for the product. While I was reimbursed for the product I was not for the protection. WHY AM I APYING PROTECTION FOR SOMETHING I DO NOT HAVE.

Played this game before. I had issues with getting my old Fitbit fixed with SquareTrade a few years back. I bought a new Fitbit from Sam's club and last week the battery was not holding a charge. I opened a claim with ST and sent in the Fitbit. They claimed to have fixed it, I received the Fitbit yesterday charged it up. Today the Fitbit gets to 46 percent charge in less than 24 hours and the screen goes black.

At this point I have to put it on the charger to get the screen to come back and wait for it to charge up again. There is no quality control to test these devices before they are sent back to you. Last time I had sent my old Fitbit back and forth at least 4 times. I would really like to get this issue resolved.

I bought the 2 year squaretrade warranty for my phone from Costco almost 2 years ago. The first time I used it was in 2021. The charging port on the phone was not working. They initially insisted that I bring the phone to get it fixed at a repair shop, which means that I won't have a phone for that whole duration. Does not make sense. Took a lot of arguing, but long story short, I received a refurbished phone. 1year later, the charging port on the refurbished phone is not working again.

When I tried processing the claim online, I got a blank page. Told via live chat to call instead. Took me a few days to get in touch with a live person.from Pakistan. They sent me an email saying that the phone that I've been using for the past year was reported lost or stolen by my carrier. WHAT?!? How would I be USING the phone If this is the case!?! Seriously? Called my carrier, they confirmed that they did NOT report it lost/stolen, and confirmed that I wouldn't be able to use it! Tried calling back the same morning and I reached someone! OMG.now I'm feeling lucky! I'm sorry, but I gave it to that guy with all my frustrations.

After multiple holds of 2-3 minutes, they finally found out they got the wrong IMEI number for my current phone, which came from THEM. It makes me wonder what else they are getting wrong! I hope my response to them with a lot of capital letters will move the claim forward. Oh.the people I spoke to is from Pakistan. Allstate is in Pakistan?!?

I bought a new notebook at Costco and they talked me into the 3 year comprehensive warranty. Usually a mistake - but not this time. I dropped the computer about a month ago and one of the hinges that holds the display on. I tried limping along but then I remembered the warranty. I figured why not - I won't any worse off. So fully expecting a litany of BS, hidden fees, and excuses I went to the website and followed the directions.

They came back right away and said the claim is approved. They sent me FEDEX prepaid label and that was that. I got the computer back about 4 days later. They fixed the hinge and some other parts on the display that I hadn't noticed were broken too. No deductible, no service charge, no nothin. They did exactly what the warranty promises! I couldn't believe it either. BTW - If you decide to go this route, make sure to keep the box that the computer came in - that made it very easy to safely ship it back to them. Solid FIVE stars!

When I spoke with a representative, I was told that this would be resolved in a matter of days. I was also told that I would receive a refund of the purchase because the item would be nonrepairable. I rely on this device for training. I was told that this supervisor would personally expedite my case and start my refund process as soon as you received the damaged device.

I waited a few days and when I was told there was no resolution yet, I went ahead and purchased a new device. I figured when I received my refund I would just pay for the new device. I was told that I would receive a refund for the amount that I paid for the device. Instead, about 2 months later, I received a replacement. I have no need for the replacement.

I had already repurchased the item and cannot return it. Now I am stuck with two device because your representative misinformed me. When I reached out to you about this I was told, "Sorry, that's just how we handle these issues". No remorse. Not a care in the world. What do I do with 2 devices? This is not how I've been treated in the past and was disappointed that I got the runaround.

I had a very horrible experience with Square trade. We bought Square trade insurance for our TV screen in 2020. So we started having some issues with the screen since a few months. I called Square trade and they wanted me to initiate a claim online. After they responded they requested some pictures of the TV. I sent them. Wait for a few days, then I get another email asking for more pictures.

I sent them. After waiting for another few days they requested more pictures from different channels. I sent them. After waiting for another few days they requested videos of the TV. I sent them. Finally after so much back and forth exchange of pictures and videos which could have been done only in one email, they agreed to send someone for repairs.

I get an email to schedule for repairs. I tried scheduling online as suggested by them and the link they emailed me was not working. So called them to schedule but they said that they will call to confirm the schedule. I got an email with the schedule and I made arrangements accordingly to be there during the repair. But the repair person called me 10 times wanting to come a day prior to the original schedule date because he was going to be in the area.

He was so insistent to come early for his convenience, I finally agreed. He came a day early for his benefit and then again started questioning about the problems about the TV. After showing him the emails with pictures and videos he agreed to repair. They changed the "Main Borard" of the TV. The person they sent had no idea how to operate the TV he came to repair so he was constantly on the phone getting instructions from someone on how to operate the TV he came to repair.

Sorry for this long detailed review, but this is my first hand experience with Square trade insurance. It was horrible. As they were wanting to not repair the TV. For the issues with the screen they decided to replace the Main Board of the TV. Now it is to be seen how that works. I haven't tested the TV in all scenes yet. I will update my review once I finish testing the TV.

I was extremely pleased with the service I received in getting my iPad screen replaced. The turnaround time of getting the repair accomplished was less than a week from the time I dropped the package off until it was delivered back to my house. The whole process was painless. Excellent customer service!

Very happy with the plan and customer service. This was my 2nd claim in the last 5 or 6 years and each one was great. The first was for a handheld game system purchase one Christmas for a grandson. The last was for a brand name TV purchased 2 years ago. I'd recommend getting a protection plan to anyone purchasing electronic equipment.

Holy Hannah I am so mad, I realized they have been charging me $7.99 and $10.99 SINCE 2018 when I canceled these phone plans. Yes, on me for not checking my credit card statement but WHAT A SCAM. Not impressed. I asked the person helping me for the phone number to the billing department and he says "we don't have a phone number you can call". I canceled all the charges since October but am out hundreds of dollars.

Squaretrade reached out to me after this post but they never followed through. I contacted them Several times, never being able to get in touch with someone that could actually help. It was the beginning of the pandemic and I was homeschooling my 2 children. Able to help in children to the schooling process that nobody actually called me back. I got no response to emails and extremely disappointed & I would not recommend this company to anyone!

After trying to deal with customer service via phone and getting nowhere, William C. from ST Corporate personally reached out to me to assess the situation and offered his help. William was able to expedite the claim process in just about an hour. I was able to set an appointment with my local repair shop, set about a week out, as the parts had to be ordered.

Pretty awful warranty service. I've had different warranties for a number of years with them. Their website hasn't changed or updated in like 10+ years.there are very few options when inside of your account and it's pain to do almost anything. I've had a family phone plan for 2+ years. I've made 2 or 3 screen repairs claims during that time. 2 of out of 3 have been a nightmare. First, they require a receipt.

Modern phone purchases don't really have a receipt, when purchased and financed through the carrier. You basically just pay a 0% interest loan off every month on your cell phone bill. There's no hard copy receipt unless you bought the phone outright from a major retailer. Despite it being 2021 and literally EVERYONE knowing this, it was like pulling teeth.

I had to go back into the AT&T kiosk at a Sam's Club and get them to print me some generic, back-dated receipt showing I paid the tax on the phone at the time. Anything I provided from my actual AT&T account, which is really who I bought the phone from (Not Sam's) wasn't good enough for them. Another repair went back and forth for nearly 2 months.

The local repair center tried 3 times and Squaretrade requested a letter saying it's unrepairable. The repair center had never even heard of that (and said they don't like dealing with ST). Eventually, I had to send the phone in to them and I got it replaced. Total nightmare situation. Lastly, which is important.their website is terrible and I was never able to add a newer phone to my plan, despite having a blank spot on my 4 phone plan I've been paying monthly for.

This phone's screen cracked Dec 13, 2021. I was unable to make the claim online and had to call. Got transfered and put on hold about 6 times until eventually they said their policies all got changed and as of Dec 1st, you can no longer add phones to the plan; that I would need to start a new plan, but they couldn't cover this phone because it's already broken. THEY ADMITTED TO NEVER NOTIFYING THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THIS CHANGE TO THEIR POLICY AND COVERAGE PLANS.

It went up through a manager, the sales guy genuinely felt bad and all but said it was their fault and I'm getting screwed. They absolutely refused to work with me and allowed me to cancel every plan I have with them, right there on the spot, instead of rectifying an issue that was only 13 days old and one they admitted to messing up on. Insane.

I was already annoyed with them before but just didn't want to do the work to find a new plan. Now I will. Their customer service is nearly worse than their 1998 website.

Oh wow. Should have read these reviews before I bought my SquareTrade plan from Costco the other day for a high end laptop. Unable to register my warranty, called SquareTrade three times because the first person didn't know what to do, and the second person I could not understand. Anyway, finally figured out where to go to enter my serial # (you have to select "File a Claim" to do that, according to SquareTrade support).

Then I was told that I need to upload my Costco receipt and when he figured out which option I needed (yea, it's not user friendly!) - it appeared that Costco verifies your purchase automatically. Oh - and every person I called asked me if I purchased other electronics in the past 30 days and what they were, even before attempting to help with my registration question.

I get it, you're trying to sell warrantees, but not a good way to start with a new customer. I don't like Costco (jerks working there) and not so much love for SquareTrade at the moment.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Don't waste your money, like any insurance they will go out of their way to deny a claim. Purchased a one year plan on a used Motorola two way radio on eBay. It was clearly listed as used, and Motorola stopped making this model in 2012. The radio failed, and Square Trade said to call the manufacturer since it was under warranty.

I know of no electronics items that have ten year warranty. Then "call us". Well, after 30 calls of endless waits on hold, I have given up. I should have thrown the money I paid for "protection" in the trash, that is about the same level of "service and protection" I received from the Square Trade scam.
