It is a rare treat to find a local business that offers old fashioned customer service. Marvin takes the time to listen to you and makes sure your computer is in great shape when he is finished fixing it.

Marvin had my computer upgraded and ready to game over night and better pricing. Thank you for finishing my beastly machine! It is so fast and has more memory than I know what to do with and all those fans keep everything cool to the touch! Looks good and graphics are amazing! I will see you on the next project.

My mom had long used Marvin for her computer needs for business and personal. Beginning in January, she had sporadic internet sevice. Marvin came out, said it was fixed, he would leave, problem came back. This went on for a couple months. Because I have an extensive background in the computer field, I called Marvin to discuss my mom's internet problem with him.

I should mention here that I live in San Diego, CA, so I was trying to diagnose the problem from a considerable distance. I asked him his thoughts about my mom's internet situation. He said, "Your mom has reached the point where she should not be on Facebook or the internet any more." I was appalled. To make a long story as short as possible, we had AT&T test the dsl modem remotely, learned it was fine, and eliminated it as the source of the problem.

I ordered her a new router from Amazon, had it shipped to her, and my youngest sister, who has no computer training at all, installed the router when she visited, reset the modem and Presto! Suddenly my mom has internet agsin. It is unbelievable that Marvin said such a cruel thing, and let my mom suffer without internet service for nearly three months, when a simple swap out of the router would have solved the problem.

If it hadn't, then you've eliminated that as the source of the problem. He caused my mom a few sleepless nights and a great deal of heartache with his thoughtless remark. He should not be in a customer sevice oriented psition at all.

Do not go here if you are tech-savvy and have a serious problem, like failed harddrive recovery. Lack of communication between the service and the customer means that you may be paying for work you don't need and not getting what you do. There is no guarantee that the services you pay for are to your exact specification, if you like to have control of what happens on your machine and control of what you are willing to pay for.

For something simple like a virus or easy-to-repair hardware problem, they are just like any other computer repair shop, but if your computer holds your entire life, see what you can do yourself first, go somewhere else, or buy a fresh new computer before taking it here.

Apparently they have a policy wherein they recycle any computers that are left there for over 30 days. I was not informed of this policy, besides a single 8.5x11 sign on the counter up against the wall which I did not notice when I dropped my computer off. I never received a call saying "We can't fix it" or "If you don't pick it up in the next few days it will be recycled." So a perfectly functional Solid State Drive and RAM was thrown away without my consent.

I called on a fluke thinking I would have to buy a new laptop. I had cracked my screen and the camera wasn't working, but time was an issue and I really didn't want to have to transfer all of my data to a new computer. For a little more than it would have been to transfer my data, New Age Computers fixed the screen. They threw in a free camera while they were in there "because." It took a total of half an hour to do the work. It was a fabulous experience, and I would highly recommend this service. The man I dealt with was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient.

Great work done here - ever since I found the store, I tell my friends and family regularly, 'Go see Marvin'.

I've come to Marvin for my computer problems for almost ten years, and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
