I have used Jeff Computers to fix my computer and printer and also buy similar products. I have had their home service. Jeff the owner cares as his technicians. And I have used them for home visits. I believe their prices are competitive. Use them with confidence. Don Larsen

My first experience with Jeff Computers won't be my last. His team upgraded my video card and replaced my hard drive with a solid state one. My pc does everything faster now and the video card is proving to be an awesome upgrade! Highly recommend!

Jeff qas quickly able to identify what was wrong with my laptop, and ordered replacement parts. The receipt he provided had plenty of detail so that reimbursement under warranty was a breeze. He also gave me some helpful advice on Windows update and what to look for in my next business computer. I will definitely use this business again.

I have been a client of Jeff Computers for five years. Unlike the big box stores (such as Best Buy and Sam's Club nearby on Manchester Rd, which send out devices with a lengthy turnaround time), Jeff (the owner) does the repair in person. He is remarkably skilled and can identify and diagnose laptop problems quickly. If parts are needed, he can source and order those from providers a typical consumer could not find themselves, especially in these times of supply chain difficulties.

The repairs to my various devices old & new have been first-rate. My monthly maintenance agreement for my Windows 11 Lenovo Yoga laptop includes offsite backup of my system & data files and an easy to use one button remote consultation from his website at any time. For the services rendered, the cost is very reasonable. I have also bought a used (refurbished) Dell laptop from Jeff, which was similar in cost to online vendors like Tiger Direct Business, where I am also a longtime customer.

I can recommend Jeff Computers without reservation as one of the finest independent computer repair shops in the St Louis area. Jeff himself is honest, trustworthy, and efficient. I am a very satisfied customer! Robert Baker 3/5/2022

Nice people but they are way too forgetful and they rarely call you back when you call and leave a message. I was told 4 times that they had ordered a part for my computer and it never came to their store. I finally gave up on having my computer fixed.and bought a new one after 700 dollars in repairs.

Lost my hard drive due to several local area-wide power failures. Had a back-up but it was old so was concerned. Jeff Computers did an excellent job - replaced my hard drive and recovered all my files - many of which were business related. Great company!

This is one of the most unprofessional places in St Louis. I directly spoke with "Jeff" and had a few questions for him about my computer, he seemed to not care at all about my questions even after I had paid for my service. He will try and make you feel stupid and will not treat you with decency or respect. There is plenty of great tech places around STL with great customer service, but this is not one of them. It's ran with disorganized people who don't know what they're doing.

Hello this was my first and so far only experience with Jeff Computers. I had a friend with a bad HDD. I really liked that he had advised on estimated cost pretty accurately and was able to keep to his estimate (we had a best and worst case scenario options). As it often happens ours was the worst and he was true to his estimate for that case. I would use them again in the future and recommend friends.

It is possible that 1 time experience not a lot but at least based on that they had been pretty good. Why 4 stars? i wish they had moved to the worst case scenario sooner (i am a vivid computer amateur so i had pretty good idea that trying to do non specialized remedies would likely not work however i had given them a chance to prove me wrong).

I have used Jeff Computers for years any time I've had a problem with any of my computers. Jeff himself is very personable and easy to work with. I've found his prices to be reasonable and competitive. And he has always had my computers repaired and ready for pickup within the time frame he gave me. Now its a no-brainer; when my laptop acts up, I just drop it off with Jeff right away.

Jeff and his team installed a 5 camera Ring Central system at a 2 story house in North St Louis County. Required expertise that few companies have in St. Louis. Would highly recommend him highly for both a commercial and residential installations.

Have completed two jobs for me. Satisfied with the results of both. Most recent involved repair of a defective 1TB hard drive. The repair ultimately was completed by replacing with a solid state drive that, as promised, made the PC perform better than new. From that standpoint they demonstrated they know what they are doing. Five stars on work quality.

However they can be evasive on completion dates, and final costs. I ended up spending more than a new computer on the repair, although the computer operates like a new one. Would continue to do business with them, and recommend them with the understanding that total costs should be estimated upfront and in writing so that no disappointments occur when the final bill comes due.

Want to get hung up on and have the WORSE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE? This is the PERFECT place! Would hardly call it a business since all they do is neglect and ignore majority of their customers.

Whatever you do, don't ever take your computer in for service at Jeff Computers. Based upon my experience, you will be charged $100 up front for one hour of labor, and will be told that your repair will take one to two weeks. However, if you express concerns that you can't operate without your computer for that lengthy of a period of time, they offer that you can pay an extra $50 to be "moved to the front of the line."When I look back at my dealings with them, this bad business practice still makes my stomach churn with a sick feeling.

Buy your next computer instead from Best Buy, and avail yourself of a service they offer called GeekSquad. Whenever you have any problem with your computer, they will applet in and fix it very quickly. and, if you have a question about how to do something on your computer, a professional will do it for you. And the GeekSquad service is available for $99.99, but that is for unlimited service for an entire year. Don't deal with these crooks from Jeff Computers. In my opinion, they are not reputable businesspeople. John

They fixed my laptop for around the same price as most other shops I looked into, which was really the only one of the few positive things about this shop. I called to price the repair and the person on the phone told me not much more than "bring it in and we'll look at it." No ballpark numbers, no idea of how long it may take. I took in my laptop and they said it'd be "a few days" until the part arrived, had me pay upfront, and then wanted to keep the laptop. Luckily, I insisted I will keep the laptop (it was still functioning) until the part came in as I need it for work and requested they call me when the part arrived.

They never called. So a week later, I called the shop and they said "oh yeah, we have the part." Part of me wondered if they were just "holding my money" since I'd already paid and if they ever would have actually called. I returned my laptop to them that day and was once again told the repair would take "a few days" and I reminded them that I need the laptop for work.

After my initial wait and reading some reviews, I was terrified that it would take weeks or months. Fortunately, it was done 3 days later and I was called to pick it up. My other concern with this shop is the condition of the building. The desk area is disgusting and in need of serious renovation. There was a rug (.intended for the floor) on the table top and dog hair everywhere.

A little paint and TLC could go a long way to help customers take the business more seriously. Jeff was friendly enough and asked how I was doing each time I came in, but I did not like the vagueness for timelines and pricing.

I dropped off my computer for a repair and told them it was and older computer and I was hesitant to invest more money into it. Jeff said it would be $100 to take a look at it. I told him I wanted a quote before they were to fix it. After a week, I called to check on it. The woman looked up my ticket and said they were waiting on a part. I told her I never received a call with a quote.

She apologized and said the new part would be $40. I said that would be fine. I went in to pick up the computer and was told the cost of repair was $140. I told her I was told $40. She said that was only the cost of the part and that there was technicians time to install it. I argued the additional cost telling her I was never made aware of the additional $100.

She called someone and they agreed to drop the $100. I paid the $40 and left. Upon starting the computer up at home, It was still broken! I immediately called and spoke to the same woman. She pulled up the ticket and said the tech made a note that it was working 8 out of 10 times they started it up. She said that was satisfactory to them. I told her that 8/10 wasn't good enough.

She said that they were hoping the cable would fix the problem but that there is another part they can order and install but there would be additional costs. I couldn't believe what I was being told. In closing, I spent $140 for a professional computer repair shop to tell me my computer works 8 out of 10 times it is started. I would advise anyone who is thinking about this place to continue to look because this place obviously doesn't know what they are doing.

Not a frequent flyer but when I have needed help, I have found no better. National vendors promise a lot with frequent returns for similar problems. My time is worth more than this!

The old adage you get what you pay for is very true at Jeff Computers. $100 an hour can be daunting when you have work done on your computer. You can spend an hour trying to get the dang thing to boot up. Anyway my IE explorer was giving me fits. Jeff''s solution was first try to fix IE when that became impossible he installed Chrome. I have many IE bookmarks and to duplicate the list would be almost impossible.

You know find that obscure web site that only you visit? Jeff was able to import all my bookmarks and I am now dealing with a trouble free browsing. I tried to install Chrome myself but IE kept blocking me. Dang it was frustrating. So after two long days of being without my laptop I am now back in business.

I had an Acer laptop with a USB port not working. I took it to Jeff Computers and in a couple of days was told it was fixed. I was charged $160. I took it home and tested it first thing. It worked for about 5 min. then quit. I immediately took it back. The next day Jeff told me that the problem actually was that it had a crack in the board underneath the port.

He said because it was working when it left the shop any refund or additional work without charge was not possible. It would have been nice if these computer experts could have been more thorough and diagnosed the problem correctly the first time instead of putting a band aid on it, taking my money and then saying sorry not our problem. Jeff did end up giving me a $20 wireless mouse for my trouble, not exactly willingly. I had to twist his arm to do it. Haven't been back since.

I called there to have my computer repaired and ask the lady how long it would take she said it would be about a week. So I told her I was going to pursue other options and she hung up on me. I actually called back and talk to Jeff to let him know that's how his phone person treated customers. He sarcastically asked me if I would be willing to come in and work as a volunteer and then he hung up on me too. Wow, I was just looking to get my computer repaired. Got insulted twice.

I have had several experiences with this company and have to say that each time I swore never to go back, but I like to support local business and I guess I just kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and they are close to my house so they were convenient, but I would use caution.they charge you more than they bid with extra hours of labor, they keep your computer longer than they originally said they would, and they over charge for parts (charged me double what the same part cost on Amazon).so basically, a poor value. Jeff can be rude and confrontational. Also, once I got my computer back and they had plugged my drives in in a different order and it took me hours to figure out what was wrong and get my bios set up for the correct boot order.that is pretty basic stuff for them to be messing up! two thumbs down.now I'm driving across town to another computer repair shop which is not as convenient, but sooooooo much faster, cheaper and they do what they say when they say they will do it.

Worst place, don't go. Overcharge customers without talking to them first. Also lost my cables that I had provided for the repair. Kept over promising on completion date and had to go back twice. Lastly, lady at front desk is super rude and unorganized. What a dump. This happen a while ago and I still feel angry about the whole ordeal. Also happened to a friend of mine that was desperate and still tried them against my advice! Big mistake obviously.

Overpriced and took way too long. I took a laptop in with a bad keyboard. When it came out it would not get wifi. They gave me a free USB adapter to use for WIFI. Really! Stay away.

This guy is a rip off. I had a sleep/power issue. Jeff's guy said they would need to run $100.00 system check. I also had them put memory in as well. When I got home the power issue came back in a day. I found on YouTube the simple setting which fixed the problem. That made me check the price charged for the memory. Best Buy had the memory for $49.00. I was charged $120 by Jeff's computers. Totally took advantage of me. Take my advice do not go here you will be sorry!

What terrible service. I dropped my laptop off to see if they could get it working again. They charged me $100 to drop it off. That should've been my first warning. After about two weeks of nothing, I stopped by yesterday. They told me that they were finishing up the download. And it would be ready today. I was like great. Today I call, Again I had to call they didn't call me, and I was told my computer was ready.

I send my daughter over to pick it up and some woman called me from Jeff computers. She told me I owed another hundred dollars because they had to restore it to factory default. I said no one ever mentioned another charge and that is the reason I brought it in. My request when I brought it in was can you clean this often make it like it was the day I bought it.

No mention of another charge. I said I don't want to pay that charge because no one told me about that charge. They did agree to that. Then the woman asked me if I could identify my daughter. I said just hand my daughter the computer and let her go. I know it's my daughter I sent her there. The woman said she has no ID and other kids come and pick up their parents computers and sell them.

I said are you effing kidding me? I sent her there I know it's her give her the computer. The woman hung up on me. This is a sad excuse for a business. They need to hire someone that scores at least a one out of 10 on the social skills scale. Don't get suckered into this trap.

It is hard to express my disappointment with the service I received. My laptop quit working stating "Operating System Not Found". It was the weekend, so my choices were limited in who I could bring my computer to. Like a previous reviewer, I thought it would be good supporting a local business. I should have gone with my gut after going into the store, but desperation to retrieve my information pushed me into making a bad decision.

Before even looking at my computer, I was charged $200.00 + an extra $50.00 to have it done in a few days rather than a MINIMUM of a week. I received a call Monday from a woman who rattled off addition charges to do a diagnostic test or perform other services that could cost more than $1500.00. I explained to her the same thing I had explained to Jeff himself when I dropped the computer off.

I just wanted to know if my information could be retrieved. I did not spend a fortune on the laptop, so while I was willing to spend a little to recover my important information, I was not willing to invest a fortune just to get it working. The woman proceeded to tell me how they are way more thorough than other local repair places, and that their time and in-depth procedures are what cost so much more.

I just wanted to know if my information can be recovered. After waiting the rest of the day for a call back, and trying to call them only to get into a never-ending loop of their recorded message, I drove down there to get my computer back. The woman behind the desk expressed how wonderful it was having the phones down, seriously, as it made her job easier.

I told her I just wanted my computer back, and a refund of the unused portion of my $250.00. Of course with their thorough investigation I owed them the entire portion. So for $250.00, I found out that my computer that wasn't working is still not working. Of course Jeff came out and proceeded to tell me that they could get my computer running, it would just cost another $140 for a hard drive, then labor, and I cannot imagine what else. I should have trusted my feelings after my initial creepy encounter with this unprofessional business owner.
