Took two Mac systems to Fail Safe for repair. While they did the repair on one, a G5 white iMac--new power supply--they took no care with the exterior of the system, and it came back scratched up all around the bezel. The other system, a Key Lime iBook, went in for a new logic board. It got the board, but came back also with a broken DVD drive door that was intact and unbroken when it went in.

And the tech left five screws out, stripped one screw, and used the wrong screw (apparently he lost the correct screw along with five others) to fix the DC board, rendering it nonfunctional. He also stretched the mylar modem shield over the screws that hold it in place rather than removing the screws--thus making it impossible to properly place the shield.

When I first returned the iBook knowing of only one missing screw, the tech's attitude was "so sue me, I deal with hundreds of screws a day and I left one out." I did not get that screw replaced, because, of course, he had disposed of what he didn't need for the repair. They did replace the power supply and logic board. The iMac works, but now looks a mess.

The iBook doesn't work properly because the charger port doesn't connect, since it's installed with the wrong screw. Careless, slipshod service is what I got here.
