2. Back up the hard drive by making an image of it.
3. Scan the HD for infections.
4. Manually inspect and clean the registry hives.
6. Replace the HD back into the system.
7. Run various utilities to ensure all traces of the virus are gone, and ensure the OS is intact. .
8. Install all the recommended manufactures updates.
9. Ensure all Windows Service Packs are Security Updates are installed.
